YESTERDAY IN NOVI SAD, MONTENEGRO WAS
OFFICIALLY ACCEPTED INTO EUROPEAN JUDO UNION AND INTERNATIONAL JUDO
FEDERATION
Historical moment for Montenegrin Judo
In Hotel "Park" in Novi Sad, today was held the Congress of European
Judo Union, on which Montenegro officially became full time member
of that organization. Affiliation of Montenegro to European Judo
family was accepted unanimously, and Secretary General of European
Judo Union, Mr. Envic Galea pointed out that this is historical
moment for Montenegrin Judo, especially because our country became
50th member of this Union.
On appropriate ceremony, heads of Montenegrin Judo Association
received congratulations from the President of European Judo Union,
Mr. Marius L. Vizer.
Taking the floor of the President of Montenegrin Judo Association,
Mr Saša Kosović was followed by ovations, and when he mentioned
winning of a silver medal on European Championship in Moscow by
Srđan Mrvaljević, it was followed by great aplause.
- I already said, this is historical moment for Montenegro, its Judo
and Montenegrin Sports in general, and in Novi Sad it was heard from
the mouth of the highest officials of the Judo sports in the World.
At the same time, we became members of the International Judo
Federation, and we were promised financial and technical support,
through numerous tournaments, seminars, camps, work with trainers -
said the first man of Montenegrin Judo Association, Mr. Saša Kosović,
showing his satisfaction.
